D35 OFFSHORE COMPLEX
CLIENT : KEMINCO

LOCATION : D35 Baligian Oil Field, off Sarawak Coast
CONTRACT PERIOD : 1990 - 1993
CONSTRUCTION VALUE : RM800 Million

SCOPE OF WORK:

D35 offshore complex is the biggest cluster of off shore platforms ever developed by Sarawak Shell Berhad to date. The complex is situated off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia.

Sarawak Shell Berhad awarded the detail design work of the whole complex to Keminco. LTE ENGINEERS was engaged by Keminco to lead the structural engineering design team. The complex consisted of 3 platforms (riser R-A, living quarter Q-A, power generation and compression PG-A), 1 flareboom and 2 bridges. The design took into consideration forces generated from the inplace, fabrication and installation conditions.

The total complex weight was estimated at about 15,000 MT and total design manhours spent for this project was about half a million manhours. The design duration was 18 months.

The platforms were successfully fabricated, installed, hookup and commissioned in 1994. LTE and KEMINCO have introduced many new creative and cost saving designs in this project.
